Pakistan Asserts Confidence in Nuclear Security, Raises Alarms Over India’s Extremist-Driven Nuclear Policies
Pakistan has reaffirmed its unwavering confidence in the effectiveness and resilience of its nuclear security architecture and command and control mechanisms, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office on Thursday.
The official response followed remarks by former U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton during an interview with Indian media, in which he commented on a recent statement by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh regarding Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal.
Rejecting the comments, the Foreign Office termed them “ironic,” as they were based on assertions made by an Indian political figure affiliated with an extremist ideology known for its repeated threats against Pakistan.
Highlighting serious concerns, the spokesperson warned that India’s nuclear weapons are under the influence of individuals with a well-documented record of animosity toward Pakistan and its Muslim population. He stressed that such dangerous mindsets are fueling regional instability.
The spokesperson also drew attention to the growing radicalization across India’s political landscape, media, and societal segments. He warned that this trend poses credible threats to nuclear safety, especially in light of ongoing reports of nuclear material thefts and unauthorized trafficking in India.
These incidents, the Foreign Office stated, reflect fundamental flaws in India’s nuclear oversight and raise significant red flags for global nuclear non-proliferation efforts.
Pakistan, meanwhile, continues to adhere strictly to internationally recognized nuclear safety standards and maintains robust mechanisms for the protection and responsible management of its strategic assets.
