PM Shehbaz Sharif Reaches Istanbul for Two-Day Official Visit to Strengthen Pakistan-Turkiye Ties
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Istanbul on a two-day official visit aimed at reinforcing Pakistan-Turkiye relations. His visit marks a significant step toward advancing mutual cooperation across key sectors.
Deputy Governor of Istanbul Erdogan Turan Ermis, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkiye Yousaf Junaid, Consul General Nouman Aslam, senior Turkish officials, and members of the Pakistani diplomatic mission in Turkiye were also present to welcome the Prime Minister.
During his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders will hold discussions on deepening collaboration across several sectors, including defence, economy, culture, and tourism.
This visit also serves as a gesture of appreciation to the Turkish leadership for their unwavering support of Pakistan’s stance during recent regional tensions. Turkiye stood firmly with Pakistan, reaffirming its commitment to shared values and strategic partnership.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
The visit underscores Pakistan’s dedication to enhancing ties with Turkiye, a long-standing brotherly nation, and exploring new opportunities for mutual growth and regional stability.
