Elon Musk Exits Government Role with Black Eye, Commits to Ongoing Support for Trump
Report by Safarti Tarjuman International Desk
Elon Musk made a headline-grabbing departure from his role in the Trump administration, appearing in the Oval Office with a visible black eye and affirming his ongoing loyalty to President Donald Trump. Musk, who served as chief of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), concluded his brief but high-impact term by pledging to continue advising the president.
President Trump praised Musk’s tenure, calling his contributions “unprecedented” and awarding him a ceremonial golden key to the White House. Despite Musk officially stepping down, Trump made it clear the billionaire would continue to have influence, stating, “He’s not really leaving—he’ll still be involved.”
Musk’s time in office was marked by sweeping cost-cutting measures, mass layoffs, and the closure of several federal agencies.
Sporting a “Dogefather” T-shirt and a DOGE baseball cap, Musk addressed his departure with characteristic flair. However, the most striking feature was the deep bruise around his eye, which sparked widespread curiosity. Musk explained the injury as the result of playtime with his young son, saying, “I told him to punch me for fun—and he did.”

The bizarre farewell followed a New York Times report alleging Musk’s heavy ketamine use during the 2024 campaign trail led to health issues, including bladder problems. Musk declined to respond directly when questioned about the drug claims.
Though no longer an official member of Trump’s team, Musk emphasized his dedication to the president’s vision. “I’ll remain a close friend and advisor,” he said, reinforcing his ongoing role in shaping future policy initiatives.
