JERUSALEM – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a televised statement Friday following Israeli airstrikes targeting nuclear facilities across Iran, thanking U.S. President Donald Trump for his unwavering support and sending a direct message to the people of Iran.
In his address, Netanyahu expressed gratitude to President Trump for consistently backing Israel’s security and regional stance.
“Time and again, he made it clear: Iran must never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu stated. “I thank him for his consistent support of our country throughout all the years of his presidency.”
Netanyahu delivered a message of solidarity to the people of Iran.
Speaking directly to Iranian citizens, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel’s conflict is not with the Iranian people but with the regime that oppresses them.
“We do not hate you. You are not our enemies,” he said. “We have a common enemy: a tyrannical regime that tramples your rights.”
He condemned the ruling clerical regime, saying it has “robbed” generations of Iranians of the opportunity for a better life.
“I have no doubt that your day of liberation is closer than ever. When that day comes, Israelis and Iranians will rebuild the friendship between our ancient peoples,” Netanyahu added. “Together, we will create a future of peace, prosperity, and hope.”
Netanyahu asserted that Israel’s actions were part of a broader effort to protect not only Israeli citizens but also regional allies and the global community.
“We are defending the free world from the terrorism and barbarism that Iran fosters and exports across the globe,” he said.
He praised the Israeli people and military for their courage and commitment:
“Thanks to your determination and the bravery of Israel’s fighters, the world will be a safer place.”
Netanyahu acknowledged that the conflict is far from over and warned of difficult days ahead. However, he closed on an optimistic note:
“What we do today will be etched in history as a fight for good over evil, for light over darkness,” he said. “Hard days lie ahead — but also great days.”
