Iran Vows Retaliation, Says Israel and U.S. Will Pay “Heavy Price” for Military Strikes

TEHRAN – Iran’s armed forces have warned of severe retaliation, declaring that both Israel and the United States will “pay a heavy price” for recent airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military installations.

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for Iran’s armed forces, delivered the warning during a televised statement on Friday. He condemned the attacks and accused Israel and its American allies of destabilizing the region.

“These criminal strikes will not go unanswered,” said General Shekarchi. “The Zionist regime and its American enablers will be held fully accountable and will face a heavy price for this aggression.”

The warning follows overnight Israeli air raids across Iran, including in the capital Tehran. Iranian state media has reported damage to multiple sites and the suspension of commercial flights in and out of major airports.

The strikes come amid escalating tensions over Iran’s nuclear program. While the U.S. has not officially confirmed involvement, Tehran has placed blame on both Washington and Tel Aviv.

General Shekarchi further warned neighboring countries not to align with Israel and the U.S., cautioning that “those who support this aggression will share in the consequences.”

Iran has called on the international community to condemn the attacks and uphold international law. As regional airspace tightens and military readiness increases, analysts warn the situation could spiral into broader conflict.
