ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Friday strongly denounced the Israeli military strikes on Iran, labeling them as “unjustified” and a blatant breach of international law and Iranian sovereignty.
In a statement posted to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Dar condemned the Israeli offensive as an abhorrent act that “shook the foundations of international law and the conscience of humanity.” He cautioned that such aggressive actions not only violated Iran’s sovereignty but also posed serious risks to regional peace and global security.
The deputy prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Iranian people and government amid rising tensions. “Pakistan stands in full solidarity with Iran,” he declared, echoing Islamabad’s stance against foreign interventions that threaten sovereign nations.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Office also condemned the Israeli strikes, emphasizing that they were in direct violation of Iran’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. The FO spokesperson stated the attacks were in clear contravention of the United Nations Charter and the core tenets of international law.
The spokesperson added that Iran had the legitimate right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter, which allows states to respond to acts of aggression.
As global condemnation grows, Pakistan has urged the international community to take serious notice of the situation and called for immediate steps to prevent further deterioration of regional stability. Islamabad stressed the importance of upholding international law and avoiding further military provocations.
