Mass ‘No Kings’ Protests Sweep U.S. as Trump Marks Birthday with Military Parade

Report by “Safarti Tarjuman” International News Desk

Millions of Americans are staging coordinated “No Kings” protests across the country on Saturday, coinciding with President Donald Trump’s birthday and his attendance at a grand military parade in Washington, D.C., marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.

The “No Kings” movement, led by the 50501 coalition — a reference to 50 states, 50 protests, one movement — has mobilized over 2,000 demonstrations across the United States. Organizers say this will be the largest day of protests since Trump’s return to office, aimed at rejecting what they describe as his authoritarian governing style and billionaire-first policies.

A major anti-Trump march is underway in Philadelphia, while cities nationwide have seen demonstrations escalate following a week of federal immigration raids and controversial military deployments.

The protests follow days of unrest triggered by federal immigration enforcement operations and Trump’s decision to deploy National Guard troops and Marines to cities like Los Angeles. In some areas, demonstrators blocked highways and set vehicles ablaze, prompting police to respond with tear gas, rubber bullets, and flash grenades.

Democratic governors condemned the use of military force on American streets. Washington State Governor Bob Ferguson called for calm, warning, “Donald Trump wants to say we can’t maintain order without him — let’s prove otherwise through peace.”

Republican governors in Virginia, Texas, Missouri, and Nebraska have preemptively deployed National Guard units to manage expected unrest. Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin emphasized a firm stance, stating, “If you violate the law, you’re going to be arrested.” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a similar warning ahead of a planned march toward Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, saying the “line is very clear.”

While protests unfold nationwide, President Trump is participating in a high-profile military parade in Washington, D.C., attended by an estimated 200,000 people. The event, added late to the Army’s 250th anniversary celebration, has drawn criticism for its political overtones and the symbolism of militarism on the president’s birthday.
