TEHRAN — At least 14 Iranian nuclear scientists have been Martyr in a series of Israeli attacks, including targeted car bombings, Reuters reported on Sunday, citing two Gulf intelligence sources.

The covert operations mark a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, following Israel’s military campaign — Operation Rising Lion — that targeted Iranian nuclear and military infrastructure.

The identities of the slain scientists have not yet been made public, but sources said they were affiliated with Iran’s key nuclear research facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Tehran.

The reported killings signal a direct assault on Iran’s nuclear development program, intensifying regional tensions amid Iran’s retaliatory campaign, Operation True Promise 3, which included a barrage of ballistic missile strikes on Israeli targets.

Iranian officials have vowed a “decisive and strategic response” to what they describe as a violation of sovereignty and an act of terrorism. Tehran has also urged the international community to condemn the assassinations, framing them as a breach of international law.
