
SP Briefs MNA Saba Sadiq on Eman Afroz Murder Case, Suspect Arrested

ISLAMABAD — Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Human Rights, MNA Saba Sadiq, received a detailed briefing on Wednesday from SP Sadar Zone Kazam Naqvi regarding the tragic murder of 23-year-old student Eman Afroz in Islamabad.
SP Naqvi informed the Parliamentary Secretary that the suspect, identified as Feroze, a resident of Jhang, had been arrested following an intensive investigation. The accused had initially fled the crime scene but was later apprehended by law enforcement.
According to SP Naqvi, the brutal incident occurred on April 19 at a private hostel in Sector G-10/1. Eman Afroz, a student at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), was inside her room when the accused allegedly scaled the hostel wall armed with a weapon, waited in the courtyard for nearly an hour, and then opened fire on Eman in the presence of three other girls. She was critically injured and later succumbed to her wounds at the hospital.
A case was registered at the Ramna Police Station on the complaint of Eman’s brother. SP Naqvi also revealed that the accused had a prior criminal history, including charges of rape and motorcycle theft.
MNA Saba Sadiq condemned the heinous act, reaffirming the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards violence against women. She emphasized the urgent need to ensure justice in such cases.
SP Naqvi assured that the investigation is ongoing, and a complete challan with all relevant evidence would be submitted to the court. He also highlighted progress in other high-profile cases, including the Sana Yousaf case.
MNA Saba Sadiq acknowledged the efforts of Islamabad Police in pursuing justice and handling such sensitive investigations professionally.
