
Pakistani PM Arrives in Azerbaijan for ECO Summit to Boost Regional Cooperation

SHUSHA — Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived Thursday in Shusha, located in Azerbaijan’s Nagorno-Karabakh region, to attend the two-day summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Upon arrival at Fuzuli International Airport, the Prime Minister and his delegation received a warm welcome from Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Qasim Mueenuddin, and senior government and diplomatic officials, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Prime Minister Shehbaz is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
During the ECO summit, which will take place in Khankendi, Prime Minister Shehbaz will outline Pakistan’s vision for promoting regional cooperation, trade, and connectivity among ECO member states.
Additionally, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the summit to further strengthen Pakistan’s diplomatic, trade, and economic partnerships in the region.
