RAWALPINDI — Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), has reiterated the Pakistan Army’s resolute commitment to eliminating terrorism and emphasized the critical importance of socio-economic development in Balochistan to promote national unity and integration.
Addressing the participants of the 16th National Workshop Balochistan, including members of parliament, civil society leaders, government officials, academicians, media professionals, and youth, the Army Chief strongly condemned India’s sustained support for terrorist proxies. He described these actions as failed attempts to undermine the deep-rooted patriotism of the people of Balochistan.
Field Marshal Munir referred to India’s growing hybrid warfare strategy, identifying groups such as Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan as tools in its broader campaign to destabilize Pakistan. He noted that these proxies would meet the same fate of failure and disgrace as in Ma’arka-e-Haq, the recent victory against organized terror.
“Terrorists recognize no faith, sect, or ethnicity. Combating them requires a unified and collective national response,” the COAS stated, calling for nationwide solidarity in tackling extremism.
Underscoring the role of development as a strategic pillar, the Army Chief advocated for increased cooperation among government bodies, security institutions, and civil society to advance progress in Balochistan. He highlighted the significance of an integrated national strategy to ensure lasting peace and prosperity for the province.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, the COAS stressed that the country remains fully prepared to neutralize any internal or external threats to its sovereignty and dignity.
The interactive session concluded with a candid dialogue between the Army Chief and workshop participants, fostering transparency and a shared vision for a secure and prosperous Balochistan.
