WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated his position on the ongoing Ukraine conflict, declaring that he is working to disengage the United States from what he termed “Biden’s war.”

> “This is Biden’s war, not my war. I’m here to get us out of it,” Trump declared during a media briefing on Tuesday, underscoring his administration’s efforts to shift course on U.S. foreign policy.

Trump’s remarks come amid renewed scrutiny of U.S. involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war, now entering its third year. When questioned about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent move to allow citizens over 60 to serve in the Ukrainian military under contract, Trump responded that he was unaware of the specific decision but emphasized, once again, that the war is the product of the Biden administration.

“I haven’t heard what you said about 60-year-old men, etcetera, but this is Biden’s war, and we’re working very hard to get us out of it,” Trump said.

The former and current president also claimed to have actively mediated global conflicts during his presidency.

“I’ve stopped five wars in the last five months, actually. I’d like this to be the sixth,” he added, without elaborating on which conflicts he was referring to.

Trump’s remarks signal a sharp shift in Washington’s rhetoric compared to the previous administration’s strong support for Ukraine. His repeated labeling of the war as “Biden’s war” highlights his effort to distance himself — and the country — from continued military involvement, even as critics argue that U.S. disengagement could embolden Russia.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s new mobilization law, signed by President Zelensky, comes as the country continues to face troop shortages. The new legislation allows men over the age of 60 to enlist under contract, expanding the available military pool amid sustained Russian offensives.
