Pakistan’s Deputy PM Reaffirms Desire for Cooperative Ties with Bangladesh

Dhaka — Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, has reiterated Islamabad’s strong commitment to fostering a cooperative and forward-looking relationship with Bangladesh, built on shared history and mutual respect.

Pakistan’s Deputy PM Reaffirms Desire for Cooperative Ties with Bangladesh

He made these remarks at a reception hosted in Dhaka by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, where he engaged with a wide range of Bangladeshi dignitaries, including senior government advisers, political leaders, academics, journalists, artists, retired military officials, and members of civil society.

Also attending the event was Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, reflecting Islamabad’s desire to advance economic and trade cooperation alongside political dialogue. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that people-to-people exchanges, cultural ties, and trade partnerships would be key drivers in shaping future bilateral relations.

In his remarks, Senator Dar noted that relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh are deeply rooted in shared history, Islamic values, cultural traditions, and literary expressions. He underscored that the people of Pakistan hold fraternal sentiments for the people of Bangladesh and expressed his wish for a harmonious and prosperous future for the nation.
