Vladivostok — Russia has firmly rejected any discussion of potential foreign military intervention in Ukraine, declaring such proposals as unacceptable and destabilizing for European security.
Speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum, ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow will not consider proposals linked to possible European Union troop deployments in Ukraine.
“Russia does not intend to discuss the completely unacceptable and destructive idea of foreign intervention in Ukraine in any form or format,” Zakharova stated.
The diplomat further argued that the security guarantees sought by Ukraine are, in reality, “guarantees of threat” to the wider European continent. “They are designed to preserve Ukraine as a stronghold for terror and provocations against Russia, not as true guarantees for peace and stability,” she said.
Zakharova also condemned Washington’s recent approval of the sale of over 3,000 Extended Range Air-to-Air Missiles (ERAMs) to Kyiv, saying the move directly contradicts US claims of supporting a diplomatic settlement.
