Hezbollah’s Sheikh Naeem Qassim: Israeli Strike on Qatar Is US-Israel Agenda

Beirut — Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naeem Qassim condemned Israel’s recent strike on Qatar, framing it as part of a broader US-supported “Greater Israel” project aimed at regional dominance.

In a televised speech marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq (AS), Sheikh Qassem declared that the assault was not solely an Israeli decision but rather a joint Israeli-American operation.

Sheikh Qassim emphasized that Hezbollah’s armed resistance remains the critical barrier against Israeli expansion across the Middle East.

“Today, the resistance is the final wall preventing the enemy from reaching your countries, your people, and your homes. If this defense collapses, neither Israel nor America can be stopped,” he warned.

Rejecting calls for Hezbollah’s disarmament, Qassim cautioned that concessions would only embolden Israel. He urged regional powers and Arab publics to strengthen support for resistance groups opposing Israel’s advances.

The Hezbollah leader also condemned what he described as international indifference to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“Where are those who speak of humanity and justice while genocide unfolds in Palestine?” he asked.

Turning to domestic affairs, Sheikh Qassem reaffirmed Hezbollah’s loyalty to Lebanon, calling it “our land, our life, our future.” He credited the movement with helping stabilize the country during a volatile political transition between August and September, including the election of a new president and the avoidance of government collapse.

He praised Speaker Nabih Berri, the president, and the army chief for their roles in preventing political implosion, stressing the need for a comprehensive national defense strategy.

Qassim concluded his address by urging Arab and Islamic nations to unite in the face of escalating Israeli aggression.

“This project was formalized by Netanyahu and Trump. I call on you to stand with the resistance against Israel,” he said.
