Doha — Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif assured Qatar’s leadership of Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity following Israel’s recent attack on Doha, which he condemned as an unjustified provocation and a blatant violation of international law.

During a meeting with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Prime Minister Sharif expressed Pakistan’s strongest condemnation of the September 9 strike, describing it as a “heinous assault” on Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He conveyed heartfelt condolences over the loss of innocent lives and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan and Qatar share deep-rooted fraternal ties, built on trust, mutual respect, and shared struggles. “Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with the Amir, the Royal Family, and the people of Qatar during this challenging time,” he said, reaffirming Islamabad’s support in countering Israeli provocations.

He also praised Qatar’s mediatory role in Gaza peace efforts, warning that Israel’s aggression was designed to derail regional diplomacy and humanitarian initiatives.

Prime Minister Sharif stressed the urgent need for unity in the Muslim Ummah to confront Israeli aggression. At Doha’s request, Pakistan has formally called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council to address the situation in the Middle East.

He further welcomed Qatar’s decision to host an Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit on September 15, announcing Pakistan’s readiness to co-sponsor and co-convene the meeting under the auspices of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The Prime Minister also thanked Qatar for its consistent support, recalling Doha’s solidarity with Pakistan during its standoff with India earlier this year. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to closer coordination on promoting peace, defending international law, and supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The Amir of Qatar expressed gratitude for Prime Minister Sharif’s solidarity visit, calling it a testament to the enduring brotherly partnership between Pakistan and Qatar.
