Massive protests erupted in Tel Aviv as thousands took to the streets, demanding the release of hostages held in Gaza and calling for an immediate ceasefire. Demonstrators voiced their opposition to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government over its handling of the ongoing conflict.
Foreign media reported that the protesters, carrying placards and chanting slogans, called for the government to take immediate action for the safe return of hostages captured by Hamas. The protestors criticized the government’s approach to the Gaza conflict, which they believe is endangering Israeli lives.
The protest turned tense as clashes between demonstrators and police broke out, leading to the arrest of 15 individuals.
The unrest follows the October 7 incident, where Hamas took several Israeli citizens hostage. Since then, Israeli forces have been carrying out strikes on Gaza. Reports suggest that the airstrikes not only claim the lives of Palestinians but have also resulted in the deaths of some Israeli hostages.
