Iran Successfully Launches Research Satellite ‘Chamran-1’ Into Space

Iran has successfully launched its research satellite ‘Chamran-1’ into space, local media reported on Friday. The satellite, weighing 60 kilograms, was deployed via an Iranian-made rocket and has already started sending signals back to Earth.

According to the report, the purpose of the satellite is to test high-altitude hardware and software systems, furthering Iran’s technological capabilities in space exploration.

The launch, however, has raised eyebrows in the international community, with the United States previously labeling Iran’s satellite missions as a violation of UN Security Council resolutions. Western nations fear that these space ventures could aid in the development of Iran’s ballistic missile technology, intensifying existing geopolitical tensions.
