Portugal Seeks Aid from Spain and Morocco as Wildfires Devastate the Country

Portugal has called for assistance from Spain and Morocco to help control severe wildfires that have struck its forests. The Civil Protection Authority in Lisbon has reported that the fires have resulted in seven fatalities in the Aveiro and Viseu districts.

The wildfires have destroyed numerous homes and scorched thousands of hectares of forest, according to news agencies in Lisbon. Over 5,000 firefighters are engaged in efforts to contain the fires. In response to the crisis, the Portuguese government has declared a state of emergency in the affected areas.
