
Launch of King Salman Award for the Quran under the Patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

Under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the King Salman Award for the Holy Quran has been officially launched.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs, Invitation, and Guidance announced the commencement of the 26th annual competition for the year 1446 AH, which focuses on memorization, recitation, interpretation, and recitation of the Quran. This initiative highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to nurturing Quranic scholarship.
With a total prize pool of 7 million Riyals, the awards will be distributed across six categories. The ceremony for male participants is scheduled for 9/2/1446 AH, to be attended by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh.
A separate event to honor female participants will take place on 9/3/1446 AH, led by Princess Fahda bint Falah Al Hathlin, the wife of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
Dr. Abdul Latif Al Sheikh, Minister of Religious Affairs and General Supervisor of the Quran competitions, praised the leadership’s ongoing dedication to the Quran and acknowledged their efforts in encouraging youth engagement with the Holy Book.
He stated that the competition reflects a continued legacy of service by the Kingdom’s wise leadership in promoting the care and appreciation of the Quran among its citizens.
