U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has described Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Hassan Nasrallah, as a terrorist responsible for the deaths of Americans in the wake of recent Israeli attacks. In her statement, Harris asserted that the victims of Hezbollah are finally witnessing a measure of justice.
In her remarks, she pointed out that Nasrallah’s leadership has contributed to the destabilization of the Middle East for decades, leading to the loss of numerous innocent lives across Lebanon, Israel, Syria, and beyond. “Today, there is a sense of justice for those affected,” she declared.
Harris reaffirmed her steadfast support for Israel’s right to defend itself, particularly against Iranian-backed terrorist organizations.
Additionally, she conveyed concerns about the rising tensions in the region, emphasizing that both she and President Biden are seeking diplomatic avenues to address the situation along the Israel-Lebanon border. “We aim to facilitate the safe return of residents to their homes. Diplomacy is the most viable path forward for both parties,” she stated.
