During a meeting chaired by FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial, the deadline for filing income tax returns has been extended to October 14. A formal notification regarding the extension has also been issued.

According to FBR sources, the number of taxpayers filing their returns this year has doubled compared to the same period last year, indicating a growing awareness and participation in tax compliance.

Furthermore, FBR successfully achieved its tax collection target for September, surpassing the 1098 billion rupees goal to reach 1100 billion rupees.

It’s worth noting that business organizations and tax bar associations had previously requested a one-month extension for submitting income tax returns, leading to this decision.
