
Pakistan Embassy in Beijing Honors Defence and Martyrs Day, Celebrating Armed Forces’ Sacrifices

The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing held a commemorative ceremony on Monday to observe Defence and Martyrs Day, honoring the valor and sacrifices of the nation’s armed forces. The event attracted a significant number of attendees, including senior officials from the Chinese military and civil sectors, members of the diplomatic corps, defense attachés, media representatives, and the Pakistani community. The chief guest was Air Marshal Jia Zhigang, Deputy Commander of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force of China.
The ceremony began with the national anthem and included a moment of silence to pay respects to the martyrs who lost their lives in defense of Pakistan.
In his address, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi emphasized the deep-rooted bond between Pakistan and China, particularly in the area of defense cooperation. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening these ties to foster regional peace and security.
The program included a presentation highlighting key events from the 1965 war, showcasing the heroism of Pakistan’s armed forces. Additionally, a video was screened, highlighting the military’s contemporary achievements in disaster relief, peacekeeping missions, and contributions to regional stability.
