Pakistan, Malaysia PMs Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Partnership

Prime Ministers Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia and Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding partnership between their nations during a recent one-on-one meeting. The discussions, described as warm and productive, covered a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest, including matters concerning the Muslim Ummah. Both leaders emphasized the need to enhance cooperation in concrete areas.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated his Malaysian counterpart on Malaysia’s upcoming chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed Pakistan’s engagement as a Sectoral Dialogue Partner of ASEAN and supported its increased involvement in the organization.

The leaders also highlighted the significance of maintaining ongoing dialogue, exchanges at all levels, and utilizing platforms such as the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) to foster stronger bilateral ties.
