The Penrith Panthers have secured their fourth straight NRL premiership with a 14-6 victory over the Melbourne Storm at a packed Stadium Australia. The match, however, was not without controversy as Melbourne’s Cameron Munster was placed on report following a biting allegation by Paul Alamoti. Footage appeared to capture Munster closing his mouth on Alamoti’s forearm, casting a shadow over an otherwise thrilling contest.
The Storm’s Harry Grant opened the scoring, but the Panthers swiftly countered with tries from Sunia Turuva and Liam Martin, who earned the Clive Churchill Medal for his standout performance. A potential try from Melbourne’s Jack Howarth was disallowed by the Bunker, while Alamoti’s late corner try solidified Penrith’s victory and reaffirmed their dominance in the NRL.
