Celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 555th Birth Anniversary: 3,000 Indian Sikh Pilgrims to Arrive in Pakistan

The celebrations for the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji will be held in Pakistan this November. The Pakistan High Commission in Delhi is set to issue 10-day visas to 3,000 Indian Sikh pilgrims, who will enter Pakistan through the Wagah border on November 14. The pilgrims will visit various Gurdwaras from November 16 to 22. The main event, “Bhog Akhand Paath Sahib,” will take place at Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib on November 15.

In preparation for the event, Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs and head of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, visited the Evacuee Trust Property Board and chaired an important meeting of the coordination committee. The meeting discussed essential arrangements, including accommodations, rituals, and transportation for the Sikh pilgrims. It was also decided that upon arrival at the Wagah border, the pilgrims would be served “Guru ka Langar” and transported directly to Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib. The pilgrims will be provided with free accommodation, food, and medical facilities, ensuring all possible support during their stay.
