Foreign Agency Involved in Karachi Airport Terror Attack: CTD’s Initial Report

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has presented its preliminary report on the recent suicide bombing near Karachi Airport to the Anti-Terrorism Court. According to the report, the suicide attack was a conspiracy aimed at damaging Pakistan-China relations, carried out with the assistance of a hostile foreign intelligence agency.

The attack, which took place on October 6, was orchestrated by the Baluchistan Liberation Army (BLA), according to the CTD’s findings.

The explosion resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two Chinese nationals—Li Jun and Sun Huazin—and left over 12 others injured. The report further details that the unknown attacker drove his vehicle close to a convoy of Chinese nationals before detonating the explosives. The blast occurred near the outer terminal of Jinnah International Airport, destroying 15 vehicles in the vicinity.

Police and Rangers responded quickly to the scene, where they found security personnel and civilians among the wounded. The BLA has claimed responsibility for the attack.

A case has been registered at the Airport Police Station under charges of murder, attempted murder, terrorism, and the use of explosive materials, with CTD handling the investigation.
