A special event, “Pakistan Night,” was held at Pakistan Association Dubai on Tuesday as part of the GITEX Global 2024 activities. The event, designed to foster networking and collaboration, brought together tech professionals and business leaders from various countries, highlighting growth opportunities in Pakistan’s IT sector.

The gathering was attended by Sheikh Mana Bin Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum as the Chief Guest, along with Ghanim Al Falasi, Senior VP for entrepreneurship and innovation at Dubai Silicon Oasis, and other prominent dignitaries.

Speaking at the event, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, extended gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for offering such a valuable platform through GITEX. “Events like these allow us to promote Pakistan’s tech capabilities and expand our IT exports on a global scale,” said Tirmizi. He underscored the importance of leveraging international forums to boost Pakistan’s tech industry.

Representing the Government of Pakistan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Minister of State for IT & Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Ambassador Tirmizi expressed thanks to GITEX Global for designating Pakistan as the “Tech-destination 2024.”

The Ambassador credited the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA), and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for their coordinated efforts in strengthening the IT sector.

Ali Zeb Khan, Trade and Investment Counsellor, Dubai, welcomed delegates from USA, Egypt, Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Korea, and the UAE for engaging in business matchmaking and B2B sessions with Pakistani tech companies.
