Court Restrains Election Commission from Making Final Decision on PTI Intra-Party Elections

The Lahore High Court has issued a written order, preventing the Election Commission from making a final decision regarding the PTI intra-party elections case. The order was issued by a five-member larger bench headed by Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza.

According to the court’s written directive, the Election Commission requested an adjournment, and as a result, the court has barred it from making any conclusive rulings on PTI’s intra-party elections.

The court further instructed the Assistant Attorney General to submit a written statement at the next hearing and directed the Election Commission not to proceed with a final decision regarding the notice issued on April 30, 2024, concerning PTI’s intra-party elections.

The Lahore High Court has postponed further hearings on the petition challenging the intra-party elections and the non-allocation of PTI’s electoral symbol “Bat” until December 13.
