
Pakistan, Uzbekistan Pledge to Strengthen Bilateral Relations and Parliamentary Ties

Pakistan and Uzbekistan have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations, with a focus on enhancing cooperation between their parliaments and lawmakers.
During a visit to Tashkent, a three-member Pakistani delegation, led by Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, met with Uzbek officials at the Senate Hall. Senator Siddiqui emphasized the significance of Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations, describing them as close, brotherly ties built on shared religious, historical, and cultural foundations.
He reiterated Pakistan’s ongoing cooperation with Uzbekistan on strategic infrastructure projects, including the Trans-Afghan Railway and Gwadar Port, which are seen as key to improving regional connectivity and trade.
The delegation, comprising Senators Sarmad Ali and Aamir Chishti, aimed to strengthen legislative engagement between the two countries. Senator Siddiqui also invited his Uzbek counterparts to visit Pakistan, underscoring the importance of closer cooperation to further mutual interests.
