Russian Embassy Responds to Reports of Abduction of Citizen in Pakistan

The Russian Embassy in Islamabad is currently investigating reports of a Russian citizen’s abduction, allegedly occurring in the northwestern region of Pakistan.

The embassy released a brief statement on the social media platform X, indicating that they are assessing the situation but refrained from providing further details. This response follows a day after reports surfaced claiming that a small militant group had taken a Russian national.

According to these reports, the group is led by Commander Gul Bahadur, who asserted that the kidnapping took place in Dera Ismail Khan. The group has also disseminated a photo of the supposed hostage, which shows a man sitting between two bearded individuals.
