Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Qatar concluded with a joint statement emphasizing enhanced economic cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar. In Doha, Prime Minister Sharif met with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, where both leaders underscored the importance of deepening bilateral relations and broadening investment in key economic sectors.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, expressing appreciation for Qatar’s hospitality, highlighted Pakistan’s interest in expanding trade and investment partnerships. During discussions, both sides reviewed previous investment pledges and identified additional opportunities, reiterating a commitment to growth in shared economic interests.
The joint statement revealed that the two countries are set to prioritize projects that will foster trade and innovation, alongside continued collaboration in regional security matters. Sheikh Tamim reaffirmed Qatar’s interest in bolstering economic ties, focusing on long-term strategic cooperation and mutual prosperity.
Prime Minister Sharif also met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The talks focused on diversifying economic, trade, and cultural links, with both sides agreeing on the importance of advancing Pakistan-Qatar relations through frequent exchanges and strategic partnerships.
In his address, Prime Minister Sharif lauded Qatar’s support for Pakistan’s economic stability, emphasizing the critical role of the Pakistani diaspora in strengthening bilateral ties. Additionally, the leaders discussed the significance of Qatar’s diplomatic efforts in regional peace, particularly in resolving the Palestinian issue.
The Prime Minister and Qatari officials later attended an exhibition titled “Art and Architecture in Pakistan: 1940 to Present,” organized by Qatar Museums, symbolizing the cultural exchange between the two nations. The visit concluded with a mutual commitment to high-level engagements, enhancing cooperation, and exploring future avenues for partnership.
