U.S. elections, Pakistani-American candidates Salman Bhojani and Dr. Suleman Lalani made notable wins, marking success for both in Texas. Bhojani, representing Dallas, and Lalani, from Houston, secured seats in the Texas state assembly. However, other Pakistani-American candidates faced setbacks.
The presidential race saw Donald Trump clinch victory as the 47th president with 277 electoral votes, overcoming Democrat Kamala Harris, who gained 226 votes.
Among the Pakistani-American candidates, Republican Aaron Bashir faced a loss in Pennsylvania, where Democrat Brendan Boyle emerged victorious. In Michigan’s House District 57, Republican Thomas Cohen won against Democrat Ayesha Farooqi. Similarly, Democratic candidate Mariam Sabeih also conceded defeat in her respective race.
