Indian Famed music composer A R Rahman has recorded an exclusive 30-minute performance to support Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, expected to provide a significant boost as the general elections near on November 5. Rahman, 57, becomes the first major South Asian artist to publicly back Harris, who has both Indian and African heritage.
Rahman’s performance is part of a broader effort to rally support for Harris, particularly among South Asian communities. Shekar Narasimhan, chairman of the AAPI Victory Fund, remarked, “A R Rahman’s contribution amplifies the voices of leaders and artists advocating for progress and diversity in America.” As the election campaign intensifies, Rahman’s endorsement is seen as a meaningful gesture toward cultural and political unity.
