Afghan Delegation Arrives in Pakistan to Strengthen Trade Ties, Address Refugee Concerns

 

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, led by Minister of Industry and Commerce Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, with A high-level delegation arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday to engage in critical dialogue focused on trade, transit cooperation, and refugee affairs.

The delegation comprises officials from key Afghan government departments, including the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs, Investment Facilitation Directorate, and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Refugees and Returnees, Transport and Civil Aviation, Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock. Members of Afghanistan’s private sector also accompanied the delegation.

Both sides aim to streamline cross-border movement, improve transit infrastructure, and facilitate smoother trade flows between the two neighboring countries.

In addition to economic matters, the delegation addressed the welfare of Afghan refugees currently residing in Pakistan. Discussions centered on enhancing humanitarian support, ensuring legal protections, and developing long-term integration strategies for displaced Afghans.

The visit underscores the shared interest of both nations in strengthening economic cooperation, addressing humanitarian needs, and promoting regional stability through constructive dialogue.
