
Ahsan Iqbal and Ethiopian Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, met Ethiopian Ambassador Dr. Jamal Bakr on Thursday to explore opportunities for enhancing mutual cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Ethiopia.
During the meeting, Ambassador Bakr lauded Pakistan’s “Uraan Pakistan” initiative, emphasizing its potential for fostering socio-economic growth. He also provided insights into Ethiopia’s homegrown economic reforms project, which he said has stabilized the Ethiopian economy, created employment opportunities, and attracted significant foreign investment.
“These reforms have cultivated a favorable environment for investors and have opened new avenues for enhancing trade and bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Pakistan,” Dr. Bakr noted.
The ambassador highlighted the importance of Pakistan’s upcoming single-country exhibition in Addis Ababa, describing it as a pivotal event to boost trade ties and collaboration between the two nations.
Minister Ahsan Iqbal appreciated Ethiopia’s economic reforms and expressed Pakistan’s commitment to building stronger ties with Ethiopia. He underscored the importance of fostering trade and cultural exchanges to further deepen the partnership between the two countries.
