Ambassador Tirmizi Attends Historic PAD Event Unveiling Record-Breaking UAE Flag of 24,514 Handprints

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, participated in a landmark celebration organized by the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), where a new Guinness World Record was officially announced. The event featured the unveiling of the largest UAE flag made using human handprints, a powerful symbol of unity and cultural harmony. The unique flag, representing the United Arab Emirates, features 24,514 handprints collected from people of over 100 different nationalities.

The unveiling ceremony, held at PAD’s premises in Dubai, was attended by a large number of Pakistani and Emirati community members. The initiative showcased the UAE’s message of unity in diversity and was acknowledged by Guinness World Records for its scale and multicultural impact.

This record-setting achievement was the result of a collaborative campaign launched by PAD, Emirates Loves Pakistan, and artist Rubab Zahra. The project, spanning one month, began on April 13 in Al Quoz, Dubai, and concluded with the successful completion of the massive flag made entirely of human handprints.

Ambassador Tirmizi, while addressing the gathering, described the artwork as more than handprints—calling them “heart prints” symbolizing the love and shared purpose of the community. He applauded PAD President Dr. Faisal Ikram for his visionary leadership and highlighted how the project supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

The ambassador also acknowledged the recent literary contribution of Pakistani author Khan Zaman, who published a book on the life and legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE. He said such efforts strengthen historical and cultural ties between Pakistan and the Emirates.

Ambassador Tirmizi further praised the previous collaboration between PAD and Emirates Loves Pakistan, particularly their organization of the Pakistan Independence Day event in 2024.

Dr. Faisal Ikram expressed gratitude to the volunteers, supporters, and community members who made the project possible. He stated that the flag represents the shared values of cooperation and togetherness and perfectly embodies the theme of the “Year of Community 2025.”
