Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi Celebrates Easter with Pakistani Christian Community in Brussels
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, Rahim Hayat Qureshi, joined members of the Pakistani Christian community in Brussels to celebrate Easter during a warm and inclusive event held at the Embassy of Pakistan.
The event brought together members of the Christian diaspora, including prominent figures from various churches across Belgium.
During his remarks, the ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to religious freedom and the protection of minority rights, as guaranteed by the country’s Constitution. He highlighted the government’s dedication to building a society based on equality, tolerance, and respect for all faiths. Their active civic engagement, he said, plays a key role in strengthening Pakistan’s image globally.
In a heartfelt moment, Ambassador Qureshi expressed his condolences over the recent passing of Pope Francis. He praised the Pope as a global leader who promoted compassion, peace, and interreligious dialogue. A moment of silence was observed to honor his life and legacy.
The gathering concluded with a shared commitment to continue fostering mutual respect and harmony among different communities, reflecting Pakistan’s inclusive vision on the global stage.
