Ambassador Tirmizi Urges Youth to Lead Global Change at NLCSDMUN 2025 in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI — Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, delivered an impactful keynote address at the opening ceremony of the North London Collegiate School Dubai Model United Nations (NLCSDMUN) Conference 2025, urging students to embrace diplomacy, multilateralism, and global cooperation to address modern challenges.

Welcomed warmly by Principal Jonathan Locke and Director General Ms. Fatima Tariq, Ambassador Tirmizi commended the school for empowering youth with the skills and awareness necessary to shape a peaceful and sustainable world. The conference’s theme this year is “Strengthening International Cooperation for Peace and Security.”

In his keynote speech titled “Pakistan’s Role in Global Diplomacy, Multilateral Cooperation & the Importance of Youth Engagement in International Relations,” Ambassador Tirmizi stressed that dialogue remains the only path to resolving global conflicts.

He emphasized Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to multilateralism, active peacekeeping roles, and continued contributions to global diplomacy. Highlighting Pakistan’s acute vulnerability to climate change—particularly melting glaciers and severe flooding—he called upon the youth to take a leading role in climate action and sustainable development initiatives.

Ambassador Tirmizi praised the UAE for its diverse and inclusive society, describing it as a model of multicultural harmony. He said the peaceful coexistence of over 190 nationalities in the UAE serves as a global example of how diverse communities can live and thrive together.

Encouraging students to consider careers in international relations, Ambassador Tirmizi said,
“The world needs diplomats, negotiators, and bridge-builders now more than ever.”
He motivated the youth to contribute to national and global progress by engaging in international forums and institutions.
