Armenia Declares Readiness to Sign Peace Deal with Azerbaijan
Armenia has officially announced that it has finalized a draft peace agreement with Azerbaijan and is now prepared to discuss a date and location for signing the historic treaty.
According to Armenia’s Foreign Ministry, the agreement marks a significant step toward ending decades of conflict between the two nations.
Armenia and Azerbaijan have fought multiple wars over Nagorno-Karabakh, a region that once had a majority Armenian population but was reclaimed by Azerbaijan in September 2023, leading to the mass displacement of nearly 100,000 Armenians.
Both sides have long expressed interest in a formal peace treaty, but negotiations have faced repeated delays due to disputes over territorial and security arrangements.
With the peace agreement now finalized, Armenia has called on Azerbaijan to engage in final consultations to determine the signing details.
