Army Chief General Asim Munir Meets Russian Deputy Defense Minister

Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel General Alexander V. Fomin at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, focusing on regional security, defense cooperation, and shared areas of interest.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the discussions centered on strengthening defense and security partnerships between the two nations, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of collaboration for regional peace and stability.

General Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to fostering traditional defense relations with Russia. Colonel General Fomin, in turn, commended Pakistan’s achievements in the fight against terrorism and highlighted the need for a unified approach against extremism.
