Army Chief Hails Pakistan-China Ties as Model of Trust and Cooperation

Pakistan-China relations stand as a testament to mutual trust, resilience, and collaboration, said Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir during a high-profile meeting with China’s Central Military Commission Vice Chairman General Zhang Youxia at GHQ on Tuesday.

General Zhang, leading a senior Chinese military delegation, engaged in a series of discussions, including a one-on-one session with General Munir and later delegation-level talks. The agenda focused on regional security, defense cooperation, and mutual interests.

General Munir expressed his appreciation for China’s unwavering support for Pakistan, particularly in challenging times, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing the historic partnership.

“Pakistan and China enjoy exemplary ties based on trust and cooperation, which have only grown stronger over time,” he noted.

General Zhang praised Pakistan’s steadfast role in the strategic partnership and the Pakistan Army’s exceptional expertise in counter-terrorism efforts, calling it a benchmark for professional excellence.

The visit also included a wreath-laying ceremony at the Martyrs’ Monument, where the Chinese delegation paid homage to Pakistan’s sacrifices for peace and stability.
