Balkans Country Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic Announces Resignation
Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic has officially announced his resignation from the position of chairman of the government, citing ongoing student protests and escalating tensions in the country.
During a spontaneous press conference, Vucevic confirmed that his decision to step down was final. He stated that he had a lengthy meeting with President Aleksandar Vucic earlier that morning, where they discussed the situation, and Vucic accepted his resignation and reasoning.
Vucevic explained that the student protests, which have been intensifying across Serbia, were part of a deliberate and coordinated effort orchestrated from abroad, aimed at destabilizing the country. He claimed that the protests targeted the nation’s education system as a means to cause widespread unrest, potentially leading to a coup d’état. The protests, marked by blockades, street conflicts, and escalating tensions, have caused severe disruptions throughout the nation, including misunderstandings and physical confrontations.
Despite the calls for calm, Vucevic emphasized that the situation had been manipulated with the intention of sowing discord within Serbian society. He condemned the “dark and sinister plan” behind the protests and the resulting chaos.
Vucevic further explained that, with his resignation, the entire cabinet would step down as well, leaving the government on a technical mandate until a new prime minister is elected. He vowed to continue fulfilling his duties until the political transition is completed, ensuring that the government’s obligations are met with professionalism and responsibility.
This announcement follows Serbian President Vucic’s previous declaration of plans to reshuffle the cabinet, with significant replacements expected among the ministers, in response to the ongoing political and social unrest.
