Bangladesh Ambassador Call for Strengthening Pak-Bangladesh Relations
A seminar held in Islamabad on the theme of “Bangladesh-Pakistan Relations: A New Era of Cooperation” underscored the urgent need for both countries to foster strong and lasting relations across various domains. Organized by the Isar Trust and Riphah International University, the event featured influential speakers advocating for enhanced collaboration between Pakistan and Bangladesh, both of which are regarded as brotherly Islamic nations.
The seminar, which took place yesterday, was graced by the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, Iqbal Hussain Khan, who was the special guest. Other distinguished attendees included Dr. Anis Ahmed, Vice Chancellor of Riphah International University, Syed Muhammad Bilal, President of Isar Trust, Dr. Rashid Aftab, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Naeem Lodhi, Ambassador Moazzam Khan, and Naeem Anwar, among others.
During the event, various proposals were put forward to strengthen bilateral ties, with a particular emphasis on establishing think tanks and mutual funds to assist both nations during natural disasters. Additionally, the speakers highlighted the importance of focusing on the welfare of the youth in both countries and emphasized the need to work together for their betterment.
The seminar comes at a time when both nations are taking significant steps to revive diplomatic relations, including resuming direct flights and addressing long-standing tensions. Discussions at the seminar also covered potential areas for collaboration, such as education, research, cultural exchanges, defense cooperation, regional security, economic development, and technological advancements.
