Bangladesh Army Denies NCP’s Allegations of Political Interference

The Bangladesh Army has firmly denied allegations made by the newly formed student-led National Citizen Party (NCP), dismissing claims of a supposed military-backed plot to rehabilitate the deposed Awami League government as “hilarious and immature.”

The NCP staged demonstrations at Dhaka University on Saturday, vowing to resist any alleged interference by the military in the country’s political landscape. In response, the military headquarters issued a statement to Sweden-based Netro News, calling the accusations a mere “political stunt.”

The army reiterated its neutral stance, emphasizing that it remains committed to national security and stability rather than political involvement. The statement aimed to refute speculation and reaffirm the military’s role in upholding constitutional integrity.

The protests come amid heightened political tensions, with student-led movements gaining momentum. However, the army’s response suggests it views these claims as baseless attempts to stir controversy.
