Bangladesh Deputy High Commission Karachi Hosts Colorful Bengali New Year Celebration
The Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Karachi hosted a vibrant celebration to mark Pohela Boishakh 1432, the Bengali New Year, highlighting Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage.
The festive event, held at the mission’s premises, featured traditional Bengali performances, music, dance, and an array of authentic cuisine. The celebration aimed to showcase Bangladesh’s deep-rooted cultural traditions and promote cross-cultural understanding.
Distinguished guests in attendance included the Consul Generals of Türkiye, Japan, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka, along with representatives from Vietnam, the United Kingdom, and the United Nations. Local parliamentarians, business leaders, academics, journalists, cultural activists, and community members also participated, making the event a dynamic platform for people-to-people engagement.
Deputy High Commissioner SM Mahbubul Alam emphasized the role of cultural diplomacy in building strong bilateral ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan. He reiterated the mission’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in areas such as education, trade, research, healthcare, and cultural exchange.
