Bangladesh PSO Kamr-ul-Hassan Meets Pakistan’s Army Chief to Strengthen Defense Cooperation
Lieutenant General S M Kamr-ul-Hassan, Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh, arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for an official visit. During his trip, he met with General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
The two leaders engaged in in-depth discussions concerning the changing security landscape in the region. They also deliberated on strengthening the bilateral defense cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh. A statement from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted that the meeting focused on addressing regional security concerns and exploring further opportunities to enhance military collaboration.
Both General Munir and Lieutenant General Kamr-ul-Hassan stressed the importance of fortifying defense ties and maintaining a strong partnership between the two nations. They acknowledged the critical role their cooperation plays in contributing to regional peace and stability, emphasizing the need for a united front against external threats.
General Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to securing peace and promoting stability in South Asia. He highlighted the importance of continued joint efforts to combat terrorism and other security challenges that threaten the region.
In response, Lt. Gen. Kamr-ul-Hassan praised the professionalism and dedication of the Pakistan Army, especially recognizing the immense sacrifices made in combating terrorism. He expressed admiration for the courage and resolve shown by Pakistan’s armed forces, which serve as a source of inspiration for the region.
Both officials concluded the meeting by reaffirming their mutual commitment to building a stronger defense partnership, ensuring lasting peace and security for both countries and the region.
