Belarusian President Concludes Official Visit to Pakistan

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko concluded his three-day official visit to Pakistan on Tuesday, departing from Chaklala Airbase, where he was seen off by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
In honor of the visiting leader, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hosted a luncheon at his Murree residence. The gathering included key political figures such as PM Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.
During the luncheon, discussions centered on enhancing bilateral ties. Nawaz Sharif emphasized the potential for joint initiatives benefiting both nations. The two leaders expressed mutual interest in strengthening partnerships in trade, energy, and agriculture.
President Lukashenko reflected on his memorable 2015 visit to Murree and Nawaz Sharif’s subsequent trip to Belarus the same year, underscoring the strong personal and diplomatic bond between the two nations.
“I treasure the respect and warmth I’ve always received here,” Lukashenko said. He praised Shehbaz Sharif for his dynamic leadership and reaffirmed Belarus’s willingness to collaborate in areas such as agricultural technology and energy solutions.
Nawaz Sharif recalled the progress made during his tenure in enhancing relations with Belarus and stressed the importance of sustaining momentum in trade and investment. Lukashenko extended an invitation to Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, and Maryam Nawaz to visit Belarus to explore further collaboration.
President Lukashenko departed after expressing optimism about the future of Pakistan-Belarus relations. His visit has set the stage for expanded cooperation, with both countries poised to deepen ties in key sectors.
