Brazil Assumes BRICS Rotational Presidency

Brazil has taken over the rotational presidency of BRICS, the international bloc consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, with a pledge to prioritize collaboration among Global South nations.

In a statement, the Brazilian government highlighted its agenda to enhance international governance reforms and facilitate trade mechanisms between member states.

The presidency will focus on key initiatives, including the development of a payment system to ease intra-BRICS trade and investment, promotion of responsible artificial intelligence governance, and strengthening financial systems to address climate change challenges.

Brazil emphasized the importance of BRICS as a political and diplomatic platform for fostering cooperation in diverse fields, aiming to amplify the voice and concerns of developing nations on the global stage.
