British Consulate Karachi Hosts Prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition
The British Consulate in Karachi hosted a spectacular event showcasing the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, organized by the Natural History Museum, London. The event celebrated breathtaking imagery capturing the beauty of nature and wildlife from across the globe.
The exhibition featured stunning photographs taken by photographers from 117 countries, highlighting diverse landscapes and the wonders of the natural world.
British Deputy High Commissioner Praises Pakistan’s Natural Beauty
Speaking at the event, British Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, Martin Dawson, expressed his admiration for Pakistan’s rich natural heritage.
Pakistan is blessed with rivers, mountains, deserts, and vast coastlines, but recent floods have significantly impacted its landscapes,” he said.
Competition Highlights
According to Poon Dhande, Communications Director at the British High Commission Islamabad, this year’s competition featured:
– 18 categories, each showcasing different aspects of wildlife photography.
– Selection of the 100 best photographs from thousands of global submissions.
– A distinguished panel of judges from Malaysia, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Brazil.
